On 23 April 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, and the Chair of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Davit Matikashvili, held a meeting with the delegation of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, headed by Anamukhammet Saryjaev, Chair of the Turkmenistan–Georgia Friendship Group.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan, as well as prospects for further development of relations in various areas. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of reciprocal high-level visits.
Special attention was given to the role of parliamentary diplomacy. The participants highlighted the successful cooperation between the friendship groups within the legislative bodies of Georgia and Turkmenistan.
