Within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, James O'Brien.
Discussions focused on issues concerning strategic partnership between the two countries. The sides exchanged views on regional security, the peace initiative of Georgia, and the current situation in the occupied territories. Conversation revolved around he peace policy for conflict resolution and the role of international partners in this process. Emphasis was placed on the fruitful sectoral collaboration between the USA and Georgia, along with the fulfillment of international commitments. Reference was made to Mr. O'Brien's productive visit to Georgia the previous year.
Additionally, both sides explored avenues for enhancing cooperation across various fronts.
