On 29 December 2025, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the conversation, the foreign ministers took stock of the past year and discussed ongoing projects of strategic importance between the two countries, as well as prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on the positive dynamics in the exchange of high-level visits between the two states.
Special attention was devoted to the progress achieved in trade and economic cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan expressed gratitude to the Georgian side for the swift resolution of the issue related to the transit of Azerbaijani oil products to Armenia through Georgia.
In discussing developments in the region, the ministers underscored the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus and reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to contribute to these efforts.
The ministers thanked each other for effective cooperation. Minister Maka Botchorishvili extended New Year greetings to her Azerbaijani counterpart and expressed her commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.
