Citizens of Georgia will travel to the People's Republic of China without a visa staring from 28 May 2024

On 29 April 2024, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Alexander Khvtisiashvili met with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, H.E. Zhou Qian.

The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia officially handed over to the Georgian side the note from Chinese side regarding the entry into force of the agreement signed on 10 April 2024 between the "Government of Georgia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Ordinary Passports". 

Hence, citizens of Georgia have the opportunity to travel to the People's Republic of China without a visa staring from 28 May 2024, for each single stay not exceeding 30 days. The visa-free regime introduced between Georgia and China is yet another illustration of the fruitful cooperation, as well as significant tangible result of the strategic partnership established between the two countries last year. The parties discussed current issues of the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Georgia and China, including opportunities for development of cooperation in political, economic, tourism and cultural-humanitarian fields. 

The importance of fully utilizing the new opportunities created as a result of the strategic partnership established between the two countries was emphasized. The visa-free regime will contribute to strengthening the relations between two friendly nations, activating people-to-people contacts, further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation, tourism, cultural and trade-economic ties.
