Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia welcomes the decision adopted on 21 July 2026 by the Cabinet of the Republic of Naoero on the revocation of diplomatic relations "between the Republic of Naoero and the Republic of South Ossetia also known as the State of Alania," as well as "between the Republic of Naoero and the Republic of Abkhazia."

This decision once again confirms that respect for and adherence to the norms of international law constitute the foundation of sound international relations.

Georgia expresses its readiness to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Naoero and to promote the development of bilateral cooperation on the basis of shared interests.
