On 14 May 2025, regular consular consultations were held in Tbilisi between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the level of heads of the respective consular departments.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized the close and friendly relations between the two countries and the high level of cooperation across all areas.

A wide range of consular matters was discussed, including issues related to migration and cooperation between law enforcement agencies. The sides also addressed cases in which Kazakh citizens were denied entry at the Georgian state border. In this context, the Kazakh side was provided with detailed information on the procedures applied during border checks in Georgia. It was noted that, despite the growing number of visitors from Kazakhstan, the number of entry refusals has been decreasing - a positive trend welcomed by both parties.

The sides agreed to continue working jointly on these matters.

It was also agreed that the next round of consultations will be held in Kazakhstan at a mutually convenient time.
