On 31 August 2023, the newly appointed ambassador of Turkmenistan, Dovletmirat Seitmamedov, presented copies of his credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili.
The deputy minister congratulated the ambassador on the start of the diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished him success in his future activities.
At the meeting, the parties emphasized the friendly relations and high-level cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan, both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Special attention was paid to the importance of exchanging high-level visits between the two countries and the need to intensify trade and economic relations. The sides highlighted the positive results of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Turkmenistan last year and of the Georgia-Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission held in Tbilisi this year.
At the meeting, the Turkmen Ambassador confirmed once again Turkmenistan's respect and support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At the end of the meeting, the sides reiterated their readiness to further strengthen the existing close cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan.
