Alexander Khvtisiashvili meets with the Ambassador of Egypt to Georgia

On 4 August 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Alexander Khvtisiashvili, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Georgia, Amal Afifi (residing in Yerevan).

The parties reviewed current issues on the bilateral agenda. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of maintaining a close bilateral dialogue, facilitating exchanges of high-level visits and convening the next round of political consultations between the two countries.

The discussion also focused on opportunities for expanding cooperation in the areas of trade and economy, tourism and education.

The parties exchanged information regarding the situation in the region.

The Deputy Minister expressed appreciation to Ambassador Amal Afifi for Egypt's continued support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain close cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
