The Norwegian Ambassador  has presented copies of her credentials to Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili

On 24 August 2023, the newly appointed Ambassador of Norway to Georgia, Bergljot Hovland  presented copies of her credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili.

At the bilateral meeting held after the ceremony, the sides discussed the main directions of cooperation between the two countries and future plans.

Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili emphasized the close friendly relations between Georgia and Norway and thanked the Norwegian side for its long-term contribution to the process of socio-economic modernization and democratic transformation of Georgia, including within the framework of the development cooperation program.

For her part, the ambassador once again confirmed Norway's firm support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic future.

The ambassador expressed readiness for intensive cooperation with the Georgian side. Along with issues of bilateral political and economic cooperation, the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties was particularly noted at the meeting.

In this context, Bergljot Hovland noted with satisfaction the growing interest of Norwegians in Georgian wine.

At the end of the meeting, the deputy minister once again congratulated the Norwegian diplomat on her appointment to the position of ambassador and wished her success in her future work.
