On 21 May 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Khatuna Totladze, participated in an event marking the 77th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel and delivered a speech to the attending audience.
In her address, Deputy Minister Totladze congratulated the people of Israel on their national holiday and highlighted the exemplary relationship that has existed between Georgia and Israel for centuries. She emphasized the rich heritage of the Jewish community as an integral part of Georgian society and its significant role in the country’s cultural, civic, and economic development.
“This deep historical connection has laid the foundation for the close and constructive partnership that exists today between our two states. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Georgia and Israel have steadily advanced cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, tourism, education, agriculture, and innovation,” she stated.
The Deputy Minister also noted that, in the context of contemporary global challenges, Georgia remains firmly committed to the principles of peace, security, and international cooperation. She reiterated Georgia’s unequivocal condemnation of all forms of terrorism and expressed strong support for the right of the people of Israel to live in peace and security.
In conclusion, Ms. Totladze reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to further deepen bilateral relations and strengthen people-to-people contacts between the two nations.
