On 5 July 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral and multilateral relations and prospects for future cooperation. In this regard, the importance of carrying out high-level visits and the use of the mechanism of political consultations was emphasized.
Both sides expressed their desire to develop cooperation in various areas of common interest. Special emphasis was put on sectoral cooperation, in particular, on the development of trade and economic relations.
The Chinese side once again confirmed its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed the hope that the result-oriented cooperation between Georgia and China will continue in the future in all areas of mutual interest.
