Ilia Darchiashvili has met the ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia
On 2 February 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia, Ulrik Tideström.
Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden enjoy long-term close and friendly relations, which date back to the period of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia. Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden were established in 1918 and re-established on 19 September 1992.
2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic mission of Georgia to the Kingdom of Sweden.
The 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was celebrated in 2022.
The Embassy of Georgia to the Kingdom of Sweden was opened in 2006, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia was founded in 2010.

On 2 February 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia, Ulrik Tideström.
During his visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia was hosted by his Swedish colleague.
Within the framework of his visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili met with the State Secretary to the EU Affairs, Christian Danielsson. The sides reviewed in detail the progress on Georgia's accession to the European Union, including on the implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations.
Within the framework of his visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia held a meeting in the Swedish Parliament, where the Georgian delegation was hosted by the Chairman of the Swedish Parliament, Andreas Norlén. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Swedish Parliament, Eron Emilsson, and members of the committee.
On 13 June 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teimuraz Janjalia attended the event dedicated to Sweden's National Day. The Deputy Minister congratulated the Swedish people on their national day and spoke about the friendly relations between Georgia and Sweden. In this context, Teimuraz Janjalia particularly noted the historic visit of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Tbilisi.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met with his Swedish counterpart, Tobias Billström within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje.
